Name That Rod Page

Welcome! This forum is for those who are bored with their crossword puzzles, Sherlock Holmes novels, know everything or very little about bamboo rods, long time collectors or people with a rod that they need help identifying.  Click on Name That Rod below to go to the forum and you can post your own rods that you need help identifying or can help others identify their rods.

Need A Rod Identified???

If you need help in identifying your rod. Please post it on the "Name That Rod Forum" instead of emailing me with your questions as I cannot always respond to identification inquiries or I may not know the answer. Especially if the descriptions are incomplete.

Please post the information on your rod on the forums and this way, thousands of fellow collectors will see it and if someone knows the answer, bingo! Due to lack of time and large email volume (200+ per day) I usually will not respond to info request emails, so please post your questions on the Name That Rod Forum as I try to reply there so others can learn from each others posts.

Japanese Bamboo Rods - Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of these low quality rods were made and bought by service men after the war. Today, the values are only in the $25-75 value. Even with the original box, flies and line.

GIVE A DETAILED DESCRIPTION...

What is the assembled length?  Very important if you want a value...
How many rod sections and spare tip sections?
What is the length of each section in inches?
What does ALL the writing, decal, stamping on the rod, tube, bag say?
Does the rod include the original bag, tube or other accessories?
What is the condition of the varnish, ferrules and bamboo?
What is the color of the silk thread wraps?
What information do you want to know... Are you selling, identifying, buying?

If you provided this detailed information, chances are good, you'll find out what you want to know. If you provide incomplete information, you may not get any answers to your questions.
